Donington Manor Hotel
Donington Manor Hotel is a former 18th Century coaching inn which has been extended over the years to create a charming 32-room hotel with a great mixture of small, cosy rooms and larger, luxurious rooms. It is owned by The Finesse Collection, who have a collection of four hotels in the east midlands.
Unlike a lot of airport hotels which are just off motorways or in business parks, the Donington Manor is actually in a pleasant town, Castle Donington, immediately to the north of the airport. The hotel’s Skylink bus service stops just outside the hotel, alternatively a taxi would be quite cheap.
Parking is free for the duration of your stay. The hotel also offers Park and Fly deals with secure off-site valet parking. One night’s accommodation and up to seven days parking starts at £75, one night’s accommodation and up to 14 days parking starts at £95.
There are three room types: classic, superior and suite. They range from cute and cosy to sleek and contemporary. All the rooms come with complimentary wifi, flat-screen TVs and tea- and coffee-making facilities. There is one disabled access room at the hotel.
Check-in is from 2pm, and check-out is 11am. Breakfast is included with some rates, which are around £20 more expensive than the room-only rates.
The hotel has four conference rooms catering for two to 120 guests. All the meeting rooms enjoy free wifi, natural daylight and views across the hotel lawns.
There is an excellent restaurant, Sage, which has been awarded two AA rosettes, and a snack bar, open from 10am to 10pm daily.
