East Midlands is a modern, convenient airport, and staff aim to make passengers’ visits as easy and stress-free as possible. The following is a list of most of the facilities available at the airport. Some other facilities, such as internet access, are covered in our Things to do section.

Information desk

The information desk is clearly located in the terminal building, and staff will provide any information relating to the airport, partner airlines and the local area.

Disabled assistance

Passenger assistance lounges, next to gates 2 and 14, have a number of facilities to aid your easy passage through the airport, including a hearing loop and a telephone help line.

Toilet facilities

There are toilets throughout the terminal building, including fully equipped disabled toilets.

Telephone and fax

Public telephones are also available throughout the terminal. There is a lowered unit, for wheelchair users, opposite gate 10 in the departure lounge. Fax and photocopy facilities are available at the information desk for a small fee.

First aid

There are two first aid rooms, one in the check-in hall and one after security. First aid rooms are available in two locations – one in the check-in hall and one after security. If you feel you need to use the first aid room or would like privacy, ask at the information desk (if before security) or  the telephone help points in the passenger assistance lounges (after security).


There is a chaplaincy team at East Midlands Airport which offers pastoral care to anyone, religious or not. The chaplains are local Christian faith leaders but do not represent any particular branch of Christianity. There is a Prayer Room, open 24 hours a day, for prayer, meditation or just a bit of peace and quiet. It is open to everyone.
